When Melbourne Seatbelt Repairs first started, nearly every customer visited the workshop in person. Seatbelt repairs were a local service — you brought your vehicle in, we fixed it, you drove home.

Over the years, something changed. We started receiving calls from Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and regional Victoria. Customers who had found us online, or been referred by a mechanic, asking the same question: “Can I just post my seatbelt to you?”

The answer was yes — and it worked. A seatbelt is a relatively compact component. With the right packaging, it posts safely and arrives in good condition. We inspect it, reweb it, test it and post it back. The customer reinstalls it themselves, often with a quick phone call for guidance.

Today, customers from every Australian state regularly use our postal service. What started as an accommodation for regional Victorian customers has become a core part of how we operate. Geelong customers in particular find it straightforward — the drive is only an hour, but for a standard rewebbing job, there’s rarely a reason to make the trip.

We’re still a family-owned workshop. Every seatbelt that arrives by post is handled the same way as one brought in by hand — inspected, rewebbed to standard, tested and returned.
