Seatbelt Repairs Queensland: Post Your Belt for Assessment

Frayed, chewed or slow to retract? We assess pre-removed seatbelt assemblies sent from Queensland, advise on a suitable repair or replacement, and return approved work by tracked post. Our workshop is at 5 Lathams Road, Carrum Downs VIC; we do not operate a Queensland workshop or remove and refit vehicles there.

Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and regional Queensland

Send photos and your postcode first. We will confirm what needs to be shipped and give an estimate for workshop time. Delivery time varies with your location and carrier, especially outside major centres; arrange local removal and refitting before taking a vehicle off the road.

What can be sent?

Typical enquiries include frayed webbing, dog-chewed webbing, cuts from a door, soiling, faded webbing and a belt that returns slowly. The fault may sit in the retractor or the complete assembly, so photos help with the initial quote and the physical unit must be inspected before repair approval.

Slow retraction can involve debris inside the mechanism; an inspection determines the next step.

Crash-affected belts: We do not repair a belt that has been loaded in a collision or a deployed pretensioner. Ask a qualified local repairer about replacement. Do not use a vehicle without a functioning seatbelt.

Queensland mail-in process

  1. Enquire with photos. Tell us the vehicle year, make and model; the seating position; how many belts; the fault; and your town and postcode. Include any inspection note.
  2. Arrange local removal. A qualified local mechanic can remove the assembly and later refit it. Ask us which parts to send before dispatch.
  3. Pack and send. Protect the complete assembly, include your name and phone number, and pay the inbound postage to Carrum Downs. Read the full packing and mail-in instructions.
  4. Inspection and approval. We check suitability and confirm any additional work or replacement recommendation before proceeding.
  5. Return and refit. Suitable standard work is usually completed and dispatched within one business day after receipt and approval, subject to workshop capacity. Carrier time is separate. Your local mechanic refits and checks the belt.

Price, return freight and trade enquiries

Standard rewebbing starts at $165 per suitable pre-removed seatbelt including GST. A retractor issue, parts, unusual assembly or extra work needs its own quote. Postage to us is arranged by you; return postage is $19 to one Australian address for belts returned together in one order. Confirm the full price before posting.

Queensland mechanics, dealers and fleet workshops can send the vehicle details and inspection note for repeat-work arrangements. See the trade process or use the email button below with your workshop name and expected volume.

Questions from Queensland customers

Can you collect or fit a belt in Queensland?

No. Our vehicle removal and refitting service is at Carrum Downs in Victoria. Queensland enquiries use the postal route and local qualified mechanics for vehicle work.

How long will I be without the vehicle?

Allow for removal, both postal journeys, inspection, repair and local refitting. We will estimate workshop time for your job; we cannot guarantee a carrier arrival date or total delivery time.

What if a safety inspection flagged the webbing?

Send the inspector's note and clear photos. We can advise whether the assembly is suitable for assessment and rewebbing. The authorised inspector or tester makes the final decision on any certificate after refitting.

Can I send more than one belt?

Yes. Tell us the number and seating position of each belt. Where the completed assemblies are returned together under one order to one Australian address, the $19 return rate applies to the order.

Start with photos, not a parcel

Describe the fault and attach photos of the webbing, retractor and any inspection note. We will tell you what can be assessed, what to post and the likely cost before you send it.
