Seatbelt Repairs NSW: Mail-In Rewebbing and Fault Assessment
From Sydney and the Central Coast to Newcastle, Wollongong and regional NSW, pre-removed seatbelt assemblies can be posted to our specialist Carrum Downs workshop for inspection. We advise whether rewebbing or retractor work is suitable, quote the job, then return approved work by tracked post. We have no NSW workshop or on-site fitting service in the state.
Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Melbourne time · Please contact us before posting.

Our Sydney repair page covers the city mail-in route. For a specific webbing fault, start with frayed belts, dog damage or rewebbing and colours.
Newcastle, Wollongong and regional towns
Use the same postal assessment process, but allow for freight time that depends on your postcode and carrier. Have a local mechanic plan removal and refitting, and give us the seating position and vehicle details before the assembly leaves your workshop.
When an NSW inspection has flagged a belt
Ask the tester or mechanic for the exact fault noted and photograph the affected area before removal. A frayed edge can call for new webbing; slow retraction may require a different assessment. An inspection note helps us avoid quoting a webbing-only repair for a mechanical problem.
The repaired assembly needs to be refitted and checked locally. We cannot promise an inspection outcome: the authorised tester decides whether the vehicle satisfies the relevant requirements. If the belt has been involved in a collision or a pretensioner has deployed, arrange replacement rather than sending it for repair.

From an NSW workshop to ours and back
- Send the details. Vehicle year, make, model, belt position, number of assemblies, postcode, photos and any inspection report. Say whether the belt was involved in a crash.
- Get local removal arranged. Use a qualified local mechanic where required; we cannot remove or refit the belt in NSW.
- Pack for transit. Protect the complete unit, label each seating position and include contact details. You arrange and pay postage to our Carrum Downs workshop. Use the full mail-in instructions.
- Approve the work. We inspect the assembly and confirm the suitable repair and any additional cost before proceeding.
- Return and local refit. Most suitable standard work is completed and dispatched within one business day after receipt and approval, subject to capacity. Freight transit and local refitting are separate.
Clear costs for a single belt or a workshop batch
A suitable pre-removed standard reweb starts at $165 per belt including GST. If the mechanism, hardware or unusual assembly needs additional work, we quote it separately. Return postage is $19 per order to one Australian address when the belts travel back together; the cost to send them to us is yours.
For NSW mechanics, panel shops, dealers and fleets, send an inspection note and the belt count. Our trade enquiry page explains repeat mail-in work and what to include for a useful quote.
Common NSW mail-in questions
Can I get the repair done in NSW?
The repair itself is performed at our Carrum Downs workshop in Victoria. Arrange local removal and refitting in NSW, then use our postal service for the assembly.
Should I send the seatbelt after a crash?
No. We do not repair crash-loaded seatbelts or deployed pretensioners. A qualified repairer should advise on a suitable replacement assembly.
Can I choose a different webbing colour?
Yes, for a suitable rewebbing job. Browse the colour range and confirm the exact shade and stock with us before sending the belt.
How do I avoid a wasted shipment?
Send photos and the vehicle details first. We can explain which components to send and the likely repair route, although the final decision follows inspection of the physical assembly.
